Letter addressed to Chairman RJCM for declaring Makara Sankranthi holiday on 15-1-2014

Respected Sir,
Sub: Request for declaration of
holiday on account of Makara ‘Sankranthi’ on 15-1-2014 -reg.
In the list of holidays announced vide
Chief Postmaster General L.NO Tech/Holidays/2014 dt11-12-2013 Makara Sankranthi festival was shown on
14-1-2014 and as it was already declared as holiday in c/w Milad-un-Nabi. No
holiday was announced for Makara Sankranthi
and in its place ‘Holi’was declared as holiday on March 17.
As per the Telugu Almanac the Makara Sankranthi is falling on 15-1-2013. As
Sankranthi is declared as festival for
Andhra Pradesh only,14TH Jan
2014as RH may be declared as a closed holiday on 15th January 2014in
c/w ‘Sankranthi’.
I would like to bring to notice of the Chairman that the Sankranthi is
an important festival in Andhra Pradesh Circle. I Need not mention the
importance of the Sankranthi festival on which every would like to bewith their families. Earlier a decision was already taken in RJCM
that in Andhra Pradesh Circle
Sankranthi, Vinayachaturthy and Ugadi are to be declared as closed
holidays in respect of three regional holidays.
As Chairman RJCM is competent to
declare three optional holidays for DOP other than the holidays decided by
Co-ordination Committee, Chairman is
requested to declare Sankranthi as closed holiday in place of Holi.

Review of pending items:
1)Supply of inverter to AC Nagar
SO in Ananthapur Division.
2)Supply of Steel almirahs to Chittoor HO to preserve all categories of

who has given letter to withdraw
their
membership from the union .
4)Drawl of HRA to SPM Penukonda

SPOs Hindupur replied that
RO Kurnool has directed the AE(CIVIL) to visit
the building and report.
Expedite action immediately.
5) Non conducting of
periodical meetings by Divn Superintendents with the
Service unions.
Directorate is reiterating
the orders of DOP&T No.of times,but Divn
Superintendents are not
implementing. Instructions may be given to
Implement the Directorate
orders.
Fresh items:
1-12/2013: Supply of one more Godrej cash chest to treasury
branch of Chittoor HO for keeping heavy
cash.
SSPOs Chittoor replied to Divisional
union item in the month of August 2013 that a detailed report on providing additional cash chest at treasury is wanted
from Post Master Chittoor HO for onward submission to RO Kurnool. Expedite action
immediately.
2-12/2013: Providing of safety measures for remittance and
keeping of heavy cash at SOs and BOs exceeding authorised limits in Chittoor
Division.
SSPOs Chittoor Division replied to an union item in the month of August
2013 that necessary action will be taken on receipt of orders from RO. Expedite
the action immediately.
3-12/13: Immediate repairs to CC Cameras fixed at Cuddapah HO is not working since long time
and there is no security to cash at counters and treasury. N umbers of
outsiders are coming to HO for different transactions.
SPOs
Cuddapah replied to an union item in the monthly meeting that it will be
pursued with RO. Expedite action
immediately.

As you are aware it is decided to conduct Hyderabad Region youth convention at Mancherial. town.Place of the convention Nayanasree Function Hall Beside Mancherial HPO on 29-12-2013Mancherial. All Branch/Divisional /COB of Hyderabad Region are requested to mobalise the employees of recent recruits in a large number and make the convention a grand success.
